SIMPLE NAILS: Holly Nails

Hello again!

It's a quick little nail project today - Holly nails! Not everyone has the energy or time (especially in this season) has time to sit down and do some intricate nails for Christmas so why not try these little cuties out. Who says pastel colours are only for summer? I love this Mint colour by Barry M because it puts a spin on the traditional Christmas dark green and with my favourite Ice Crush who wouldn't like this combination!

"The holly and the ivy
Are dancing in a ring
Round the berry-bright red candles,
And the white and shining King"

This is the version I learnt when I was little to the famous 'Holly and the Ivy' Christmas Carol but everyone has their own versions. Holly really is the symbol of Christmas as it sits proudly on top of our Christmas puds or is sprinkled with snow outside. I love the colours too, that gorgeous crimson berry colour with the dark green gives us our traditional Christmas colours today. I thought Holly is a simple shape that I could do easily with my nail pens on one particular finger (if you don't have nail pens toothpicks are the one) and wouldn't take too long; I used a metallic green so it would stand out from the mint. As usually I always use O.P.I's Natural Nail Strengthener (this stuff is soooo good my pinky is so long at the moment it refuses to break!) and their Top Coat to finish it off.
